As Twenty has illustrated – booties are in. Now flat booties are something I have worn for years as they are comfy and practically to wear to work. I am not much a heels shoe buyer because a) they are usually uncomfortable, b) I feel overdressed wearing heels everyday, and so I decided I’d dress things up this fall/winter season with booties. My criteria – they should be for dress up, not work, leather would be best, a touch of pattern, and they should look good with skinny pants and dresses. My first stop was The Bay.
Here’s how my search played out…..
Metalina Wedge Bootie Nine West ($190)
Also, cute, practical, and wearable everyday in black, but $165
Fergie Rialto booties ($165) are sexy but….
I decided on these Expression Holly Wedge bootie ($79).
Obviously, the price was attractive. I knew that I wouldn’t be wearing them everyday and I wouldn’t be walking through snow as they would be more for going out from car to building so I wasn’t super worried if they weren’t real leather. They also come in leopard print which I also ordered but decided the black pair would get worn more often.
Now the beauty of these shoes was that there was a Thanksgiving weekend online sale for HBC credit card owners which allowed a 15% discount. I was holding out until Monday to buy them and luckily there was an extra sale on them on Monday so I ended up only paying $53.72 after discounts and taxes! Now tell me that wasn’t an awesome deal.
I got to wear them already last weekend while out in Niagara Falls celebrating a friend’s 30th birthday.
